Islington Maisonette

Ex-Rental Property

This unusual, spilt-level, two bed flat in London’s vibrant Islington was let for years to an eclectic mix of tenants – each of whom left their indelible mark on the property. When it came to putting the flat on the market to sell, the Australia based owner turned to JS Property Staging for advice on how to achieve the best possible price.

We started by arranging for the unwanted furniture to be collected by the British Heart Foundation. Next, we carried out redecoration and minor remedial works, arranged for a deep clean and landscaped the outside spaces. For the home staging, we worked to maximise the space in the disproportionally large, lower ground bedroom using zoning techniques. We added cosy seating and a study area.  On the ground floor, we rearranged the kitchen and living space to offer clearly defined areas for dining, entertaining and relaxing.

The flat was sold within one month of going back on the market.

“Janine did a fantastic job making my empty flat look like a wonderful home. When empty, it went three months without a single offer, but within a week of being transformed by Janine, I agreed a sale. Not only did the flat look more appealing when inspected, more importantly, it made a massive difference to how it appeared in the online photographs, and I think this is where it made the biggest impact. I would recommend styling to anyone trying to sell an empty home and Janine in particular.”
